"Centro di Spiritualità"

The Spirituality Centre for young people which had opened in 1982 by the Catholic church, on the initiative of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart and the Scalabrinian Fathers with the collaboration of the Scalabrinian Secular Missionary Women.

From this experience, other International Centres were born in Solothurn (Switzerland), in Milan (Italy), in São Paulo (Brazil) and Mexico City.

  • The International Centres are open (especially) to young people (aged between 16 and 28 years) of different nationalities and want to encourage the acceptance of each person in his/her diversity.
  • The Centres intend to make a contribution in raising awareness of issues related to migration and coexistence between people of different languages, cultures and religions. In a society where the primacy of globalization tends to standardize, isolate and marginalize people, the proposal of formation offered by the Centres focuses in particular on the person, on relationships and communion.
  • The Centres are inspired by Blessed J. B. Scalabrini's (1839-1905) prophetic intuition. Through the eyes of faith, he was able to perceive, in the reality of migration, the seed of a new future: in the often challenging encounter between cultures and mentalities, a new world is being prepared, where individuals and peoples discover that they belong to each other as part of one human family.

On the road with other young people...

The SEARCH for FAITH is enriched by prayer and listening to the Word of God, by sharing thoughts with others, and by confronting oneself with the challenges of our pluralistic societies.

The meetings are characterized by these three specific notes:
the internationality, the encounters with migrants and refugees
as well as the sharing of goods.

The formation program:

  • International meetings: monthly appointments (on the third Sunday of each month from 3.30-6.00 pm) with young people who are open to diferent cultures and languages and come togheter to discover that it is possible to live new relationships in acceptance and communion among different people, through dialogue, through the sharing of the  search of faith, through giving and receiving,...
  • Weekend gatherings (mini-campo) and summer camps of a week (campo).
  • Experiences of sharing life with migrants and refugees;
  • The Yearly International Feasts/Meetings: Scalabrini-Fest di primavera and Scalabrini-Fest der Früchte, appointments for young people, children and adults, who would like to contribute to a more welcoming world for all.
  • Other meetings for groups from parishes, associations, schools, and universitites, concertes of the Scalabrini Band, testimonials, spiritual impulses and..

This journey of formation intends, to support the training programs already taking place in the various local churches, placing itself at the service of the growth of Catholicity -a constitutive dimension of the Church- so that the universal love of the God of Jesus can shine through in welcoming people of all cultures and backgrounds.
